Crown bracing systems should be checked within the scope of the regular inspection of the trees. According to the Tree Inspection Guidelines, a visual inspection from the ground by qualified staff is sufficient for that purpose. Only if the regular inspection raises doubts about traffic safety or after extreme weather conditions, e.g. hurricanes, more detailed examinations (additional inspections) are required. The intervals of regular inspection depend on the age and condition of a tree and such inspection is performed accordingly every 1 - 3 years .

The following items are to be checked during regular inspection:

  
Condition of the materials, warranty period
  
Tension (except for breaking-bracing under permanent load) or excessive slacking
  
Suitability of the installation height in view of length growth
  
Cutting-in by increase in thickness, growing-in and/or abrasion of fixing loops and connections
  
Condition of the growth reserve
  
Points of contact between parts of the tree and bracing ropes

Therefore, we recommend to pay attention to the following and to respond accordingly in the inspection of a cobra crown bracing system:
